About the Design
This print was inspired by the ant Pogonomyrmex badius. This ant builds one of the most beautiful underground nests with helical tunnels that can reach two meters deep. The pattern featured here is not of the nest, but of fine striations that cover the heads of workers. These thin grooves may help workers resist abrasion as they dig their complex nests, or they may serve some other unknown purpose.
